I just ran 4.37 miles last week. Here’s proof!

Why am I sharing this? Well…it’s the further I’ve ever ran!
Before this, my longest run was 3.5 miles…and that was over 3 years ago! I’ve been training for a 4-mile race with my mentor from work.
Granted I was running at a slower pace for this 4+ mile run, but it still shocked me that I went that far and kept going.
For years, I’d been stuck in the 2 to 3 mile zone. Part of it was the pain of running and just being inconsistent in my workouts. The other part of it was just a mental block. I honestly never thought I’d hit 4+ miles so…casually.
So breaking this 4-mile wall felt huge. It reminded me that I can achieve more than I tell myself. There’s more in you than you think, and sometimes, all it takes is just one moment like this to really see it. I just want to encourage you to push yourself, and if you can’t, find somebody whose willing to help you.
That quote comes to mind: To go fast, go alone. To go far, go together.
I’m excited for this upcoming race, but until then, it’s training mode.
